I thought my USB2.0 controller card was bad and bought a new one. In addition to the FIREWIRE, Acronis works fine to the CD R/W drive. The 80 GIG drive also fails with media errors when attempting to backup the "C" drive to it. Acronis 6.0 (latest build) works fine over the FIREWIRE to the 40 GIG drive, but fails with media errors on USB2.0. The second external hard drive is 80 GIG and can only be connected via USB2.0. One is 40 GIG and can use either a USB2.0 connection or a FIREWIRE connection. Acronis has been unable to help with this problem.
